Uganda Swimming Federation General Secretary steps down.


The Uganda Swimming Federation has announced that Albert.S. Wasswa has stepped down from his role as the federation’s secretary general.

Wasswa was voted as one of the members of USF EXCOM in an assembly where Moses Mwase was re-elected USF president early this year.

Through a statement issued by the federation, it has been confirmed that Albert .S. Wasswa has stepped down as USF Secretary general in order to pursue further studies abroad from August 2021 for the coming two years.

“Close C 17.5 states the executive shall have the power to fill vacant positions on the executive and shall thereafter report to the next Assembly of the Federation”.

“Therefore USF has unanimously appointed Max Kanyerezi to the Vacant position of USF General Secretary”.

Max Kanyerezi served before as competitions secretary since 2011 became Assistant general Secretary in 2020 when Dr. Donald Rukare the then President left for National Council for Sports. Moses Mwase, who was General Secretary, assumed presidency.
In the 2021 elections, Max stood unopposed for Assistant general secretary.

USF will miss the services of Wasswa who has previously served as Asst. Competitions Secretary from 2015 then stood unopposed & for Asst. GS in 2016 and General Secretary in 2021.

He’s a former national swimmer like his siblings Dr. Aya, Dr. Nana and Ronald Daisuke Ssegwanyi.
