As the days draw closer to the playoffs for lower Division I and II, the games are getting tighter and tougher.
The Livingstone-Kings game was a shot for a shot and layup for layup game. The game saw the lead exchange hands on various occasions but it remained tight from start to the end. Kings finally snatched the win by just a point after Micheal Abili converted the two free throws he had been given in the closing seconds. Okot Bismark led the score board for Livingstone with 12 points followed by Ayik Ayong and Micheal Abili who tied at 9 points. Henry Kasirye had 16 points, Denis Kizito had 15 points and Jonathan Awule had 10 points for Kings Basketball Club.
Watoto beat Governors after good work from Mark Mayanja who posted 9 points.
JKL Junior Men Dolphins maintained a lead right from quarter one. Berkeley’s efforts didn’t pay off as they lost by just 5 points. Aaron Eboyu posted 14 points for JKL. Timothy Thok had 10 points for Berkeley reloaded.
In Division One, Diamonds in the sun continued their losing streak since league resumption against Entebbe Archers.
Norbert Byamukama had 19 points followed by Malvin Ndayi who posted 15 points for the victors.
Since the resumption of league, Rez Life has maintained a great performance managing to beat all the teams it has faced. They led the first quarter and Rhinos threatened to set up a tense finish before Rez Life broke away. Benjamin Kawuma had 14 points while Gabriel Makoi posted 12 for the Rez life team. Ian Mago had 15 while Swaib Kalungi had 7 points for charging Rhinos.
Kampala Rockets impressively beat Entebbe Knight Riders by a 20-point difference. The Riders had an impressive first quarter as they had tied the Rockets to just one point difference but the 2nd and 3rd quarters produced less points for the Riders. Kur Garang posted impressive 27 points for the Rockets. Galuak Thon posted 14 points for the Knight Riders.
The game between our Saviour and Tropical Royals was such an unpredictable game as both sides possibly equate in performance. Our Saviour led the first 3 quarters with a range as high as a 9 point difference. However, Tropical Royals, had a strong come back in the final quarter with the maximum usage of shots. Jims Osman posted 20 points and Duallo Joshua posted 19 points for the Royals. Elton Daniel posted 8 points while Davis Asimwe and Gombya Sam both posted 7 points for Our Saviour Basketball.
The games continue Sunday at Nakasero. There were no games played at Makerere University as it was deemed a field that would be hard to control fans.
