Yunus Sentamu Mutes Vipers Exit Talk

Vipers SC striker Yunus Sentamu has fizzled out rumors strongly linking him to a move away from Kitende with a Facebook post expressing nothing but love and loyalty to the club that paved way for him.

Upon re-signing the ‘Hitman’ in 2021, Vipers announced a two year contract for the striker – that would expire this year. Sources, have however indicated that Sentamu still has eleven months left on his agreement with the club.

“𝐘𝐄𝐒 𝐧𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐛𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐰𝐞𝐚𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐣𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐞𝐲. 100%,” Sentamu captioned on his Facebook post, flashing various photos of himself in the new all-white Vipers away kit.

The transfer window is still open, and you can’t rule out the possibility of any transfer yet. But if the player really wanted to leave so much, he wouldn’t continue training normally with the club, have a photoshoot with the team and even unveil the club’s new kit on his personal social account? Wouldn’t that be weird?

Despite hinting on a potential transfer when he posted “It’s time to move on” on his Twitter account a week ago after various clubs expressing interest in his services, Sentamu knows he’s still key in the Vipers project, the club president Lawrence Mulindwa is determined to keep his prized asset at Kitende, one hundred percent!

Mulindwa, recently, reportedly asked for a very huge amount of money from prominent North African club Etoile Sportive Du Sahel in Tunisia to turn them off, as they were very interested in signing the player.

Sentamu has ever been away from Vipers before, in 2014 when he left for AS Vita in Congo. He went on to have stints in Algeria, Finland, Tunisia and Albania. When he decided it was time to return home, Vipers warmly welcomed him back to Kitende.

Sentamu has always described Kitende as home, and his love for Vipers as special.

The striker has been so dearly loved at Kitende since his high school days. Kitende made him, and the ‘Hitman’ has now turned into a legend of sorts there.

His love story with Kitende is almost a perfect one – a relationship so compatible. The SMASK Old Boy is a fans’ favorite, his bosses treasure him dearly, and he cherishes the club too.

One, the striker’s desire to win never dies, and his love for The Venoms is pure – Vipers would surely want to continue working with a player like him.

Since returning to his boyhood club in 2021, the striker has guided The Venoms to two consecutive league titles and two league cup triumphs.
