SC Villa Return To Winning Ways

Thursday, November 30
•SC Villa 2-0 Busoga United
•Bright Stars 3-1 Arua Hill

SC Villa bounced back with an impressive 2-0 victory against Busoga United in a league clash held at Wankulukuku.

Umar Lutalo and Ronald Ssekiganda showcased their prowess by finding the net for the dominant Jogoos, marking a crucial win following their goalless draw against Mbarara City.

Busoga United’s goalkeeper, Salim Wekiya, prevented further damage by stopping Lutalo’s penalty when the scores were level.

Lutalo capitalized on a brilliant pass from Patrick Jonah Kakande, seizing the opportunity to score the opening goal.

Villa secured their second goal in the latter half, with Ssekiganda unleashing a powerful shot that found the back of the net.

Despite Villa’s dominance, referee William Oloya turned down two penalty appeals for the Jogoos, while efforts from Kakande and substitute Ivan Bogere hit the woodwork twice.

Busoga United, off the back of a stunning 2-1 win over KCCA, failed to produce any moment of magic and barely threatened at the other end despite commendable displays from Ibrahim Kayiwa and Isaac Doka Mweru in the midfield.

Frederick Ngalo who brought down Kakande for the penalty in the first half, had a goal-line clearance as Villa put on the heat.

The win, third for Villa in eight games, sent the cub up to sixth with 12 points while Busoga United are 11th on 10 points.

SC Villa visit Bright Stars on December 5 at Kavumba before their rescheduled fixture against rivals Express three days later

Busoga United on the other hand host Maroons at Njeru on December 6.
