FUFA Big League title contenders Lugazi conceded a second half goal against struggling Kyetume to draw 1-1 away at the Ssaza Ground in Nakisunga.

Lugazi didn’t lose the game, and managed to pick a precious point away from home, but they just dropped two vital points that would have seen them pile more pressure on table leaders Police who just won their game away in Yumbe.

In Mukono, Lugazi scored first through Sam Ssemugugu, who scored off his first touch after coming on in the second half. Ssemugugu headed-in from Abdul Kalanzi’s corner kick in the 50th minute.

The hosts leveled matters just 15 minutes after Lugazi’s opener, and the visitors couldn’t find a winner despite their relentless search for a goal.

After 20 games, had Lugazi won against the relegation-threatened side, they would’ve gone to 39 points – just four less than table leaders Police (43).

As it stands, Lugazi have reclaimed their second position on the table with 37 points, comprising nine wins, ten draws and just one loss so far this season – six behind the Cops.

Lugazi have the same points (37) as Kataka, but the former boast of a superior (+8) goal difference.

Meanwhile, Kyetume remain struggling in the red zone, with just 20 points from 22 games, comprising of just four wins, eight draws and ten losses.
