Friday, April 26
•City Oilers (Uganda) Vs Bangui (Central Africa Republic) – 5pm
•Al Ahly (Egypt) Vs Al Ahly Benghazi (Libya) – 8pm

Table

  1. Al Ahly 3-1
  2. Al Ahly Benghazi 2-2
  3. Bangui 2-2
  4. City Oilers 1-3

City Oilers aim to capitalize on their recent victory against Al Ahly as they gear up for their last two matches in the Nile Conference group of the ongoing Basketball Africa League.

With a thrilling 82-81 win over defending champions Al Ahly, the Oilers broke a three-game losing streak, providing a significant momentum boost.

Despite currently sitting at the bottom of the four-team group with just one win in four games, the Oilers have a chance to secure a spot in the BAL playoffs in Kigali if they finish among the top two teams in the group.

That is within reach if they win their remaining two matches, and other results go their way.

Having defeated Al Ahly, considered the strongest team in the group, the Oilers believe they’ve turned a corner and are capable of going all the way.

Their upcoming matches against Bangui and Al Ahly Benghazi, both teams that previously defeated them, will be crucial.

Bangui, fresh from a 96-93 victory over Al Ahly Benghazi, will rely on the scoring prowess of Thierry Darlan and Rolly Fula.

They beat Oilers 101-88, and the Ugandan side will be eyeing nothing but revenge.

Key players for the Oilers include 17-year old NBA prospect Kharman Maluach, who has recorded a double-double in his last three games, along with Dane Miller, Patrick Lembert, and Randy Culpepper.
