Dream Come True – Magogo On Being Elected CAF Executive Member

The just concluded 41st CAF General meeting at the Marriot Hotel in Cairo has seen a number of administrative changes, but most significant has seen FUFA president Moses Magogo ushered in as the new CAF Executive member for the East and Central Zone.

The region comprises of ten federations including Burundi, Djibouti, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Rwanda, Kenya, Tanzania, Sudan, South Sudan and Uganda which all be under the captaincy of Ugandan FA president.

Speaking of his new administrative role, a jolly Magogo revealed:

“It has been my dream for twenty years to be on the CAF Excecutive and am so grateful it has come to pass.

“As young football leaders on the continent we have to fight tooth and nail to help CAF be a model confederation and the journey begins today.”

Talking specifically about the CECAFA region that has lost credibility in the region, magogo cited unity as a force to rinse the once competitive region

“We all know the CECAFA region is not doing well but I will work as a team with fellow federation presidents in the region to breathe more life into the region.”

It should be noted that Magogo has been a co-opted CAF Executive Committee member but can now involve directly in the decision making of the football governing body in Africa.
