Hosts Makerere University will face off with Kenyatta University in the quarterfinals of the 2021 Kings of Africa University Rugby 7s.
The-two day championship kicked off on Saturday with group games at Makerere’s Graveyard.
Makerere University had a poor start when they lost 38-00 to Stellenbosch University of South Africa and USIU (Kenya) 14-12.
But the side picked two wins; a 36-00 victory against MUBS and a Bye to finish third in Pool B.
Their opponents, Kenyatta University, won three and drew one in the groups.
The games that started at 8am with an opening game between Jomo Kenyatta University of Science and Technology and University of Johannesburg were graced by the State Minister of Sports, Hon Hamson Denis Obua.
Debutant Kabale University lost all their four games.
The quarter finals, semi finals and finals will be played at the Graveyard tomorrow.
Women Rugby made its debut at the event, with games being played in a round robin format.
