Yasin Nasser Takes lead of the ARC Classification

Uganda’s Yasin Nasser takes command of the ARC classification at the TracN4 rally of South Africa that revved off Friday.

Yasin co-driven by Ali Katumba in a subaru Impreza GBV, picked the lead from homeboy Guy Boterill who dropped valuable time of 15 minutes 35.7 seconds in stage five with ball joint pullout.

Botterill restarts tomorrow under rally2 for ARC, and super rally for his national rally championship contention point score.

“It’s been a good day for us though the last stage of the day has been cancelled due to fog, but stages are quite challenging,” said Yasin at end of day one.

Fierce battle ensured amongst the top three local boys,gunning for crucial championship points.

Theuns Joubert racing in a Toyota Yaris topped the day with best run time of one hour 04.2 seconds,followed by Gert Nienabar in the Toyota Etios separated by two minutes 32.6seconds.

Chris Coertse in Hyundai i20-R4 ends day in third place, with a further time difference of four minutes 49.5 seconds.

Days two of the 2021 final ARC round that doubles as Nrc titles decider for local boys, climaxes Saturday (tomorrow), with repeat of day-one stages,with the day’s last stage, Legend (3.2km) driven twice.
