•JKL Dolphins Vs UPDF Tomahawks – 8:30pm

JKL Dolphins will be banking on recent form when they face off with UPDF Tomahawks as the National Basketball League continues on Wednesday at Lugogo.

JKL have won their last two games including a stunning 62-56 victory over five-time champions Power on Sunday.

The side, coached by Sam Obol and Henry Malinga, has won seven and lost eight matches this season.

That win against Power came on the back of another deserved victory over Our Saviour on Saturday at YMCA.

They added Veteran point guard Carlos Ochi who joined the side in the ongoing transfer window and has so far made a good account of himself in those two wins.

JKL have been short-handed in last games – played with just two or three substitutes in their last two games for reasons yet to be established while coach Obol was not around for that win against Power.

They missed their star player Brian Namake who was last seen limping and it remains to be seen whether he will play on Wednesday.

And the same can be said of shooting guard Jude Ochen.

But a couple of players including Congolese guard Benfait Lola Manini have stepped up and his shot has fallen in recent games.

Maluel Dier (15.9) and Mabor Makol (14.3) who are both doubling double figures in scoring, have carried the scoring burden for the new looking team this season.

But against UPDF, they will be facing another in-form side – The Army side have beaten Tropical Royals (82-43) and Our Saviour (80-57) in their last two games after back to back defeats against City Oilers and Nam Blazers.

JKL will also use the platform to avenge their first round loss that saw UPDF run away 82-81 winners on March 13 at Lugogo.

Ferdinand Odama, third highest points scorer for UPDF this season after Arthur Wanyoto and David Okello, will be the main focus as he faces his former JKL side.

But coach Baker Kyambadde will be hoping for a resolute performance across his team against a young, athletic and vibrant JKL side.

Probable Lineups

JKL Dolphins – Carlos Ochi, Benfait Lola Manini, Maluel Dier, Derrick Katumba, Mabor Makol
