•City Oilers Vs Nam Blazers, 9pm

Nam Blazers point guard Chris Omanye is back as the side meet leaders City Oilers in the National Basketball League.

It’s a timely return for Omanye who has missed the team’s opening five games with head injuries.

Omanye was attacked by thugs last month and sustained a couple of injuries.

He will be a crucial addition having averaged 8 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists for Blazers last season.

Syrus Kiviiri who missed the last two games, is reportedly back!

Carlos Ochi and captain Paul Odong are sidelined, with the latter serving a FUBA ban after calling referees ‘Crap and rusty’ in the loss against UCU Canons.

Dickson Asiku is said to have played with pain in the last game and may have fewer minutes against City Oilers.

For the Oilers, Point Guard Fayed Bbaale is still sidelined with a hamstring injury he picked in the opening exchanges against UCU Canons.

Renewal of Acquaintances

This, is a repeat of last year’s final where City Oilers needed game seven to overcome the Blazers for their eighth straight league title.

Much has changed since, but as Oilers have moved from strength to strength, the Blazers look a shadow of themselves.

This is mostly due to the departure of key players including Amisi Saidi, Ariel Okall among others.

Oilers have won eight in as many this season, and the new additions including the trio of Michael Ngut, Bbaale and Titus Lual have made their roster the best assembled in the Club’s treasured history.

No team has lasted the distance with Oilers, and such shows how huge a mountain awaits the Blazers to climb.

Peter Cheng, Geoffrey Soro and Michael Makiadi have looked promising, with the former averaging 20 points and 10 rebounds.

Three wins, and a loss against UCU, reads Blazers report card this season.

They beat Oilers in both games of the regular season last year, and it remains to be seen if they can end their unbeaten run.
