Luak Ruai Completes Return to NBL

Shooting Guard Luak Ruai has made a surprising transfer to Kampala Rockets, SportsNation can authoritatively confirm.

Ruai is returning to the National Basketball League for the first time since winning the league title with City Oilers last season.

He joined Burundian giants Urunani earlier this year in January.

Luak Ruai played for Zenit II

A couple of NBL sides, including Nam Blazers, Power and KIU Titans, were said to be in contention for his signature.

Last season, he boasted impressive stats, averaging 12.4 points (best tally for a City Oilers player) and 5.5 rebounds for City Oilers.

Ruai’s diverse experience includes playing for Zenit II in Russia, adding depth to Kampala Rockets’ lineup.

This move signifies Kampala Rockets’ ambition to improve their performance in the second round and secure their position in the top flight, especially after a challenging start to the season where they won just two games, against JKL Dolphins and Ndejje Angels, in the entire first round.

Their upcoming match against KCCA Panthers on Saturday at YMCA Court in Wandegeya marks the beginning of their second-round campaign.
