(Kakindu Stadium)

Karim Ndugwa scored a double as BUL best Busoga United in a Jinja derby to reach the last 16 of the Stanbic Uganda Cup.

Walter Ochora registered his name late on the scoresheet as BUL cruised to a 3-0 win at Kakindu Stadium.

The derby failed to live as advertised as BUL were in total command for extended stretches and continue to take the bragging rights having beaten the side 5-0 in the league as well.

Ndugwa’s first goal was a header from Richard Ayiko’s free-kick before converting from the spot after he was fouled by Emmanuel Kalyowa.

The former Wakiso Giants striker has scored three goals in four games since his arrival at the end of January.

In persue for a comeback, Busoga United brought on Elvis Ngobi and Peter Onzima for Kenneth Kibbale and Sunday Mulanda, but there was little they could do.

Onzima picked Paul Ssekulima but his effort deflected into a corner, Isaac Wagoina saw his shot fly just few inches wide over the bar.

And Ochora hammered the last nail in Busoga’s coffin when he headed the third from the rebound off Ndugwa’s initial effort to send Busoga packing.
